Freeview Installation can set up and install your freeview HD TV but you will require an aerial in order to get the freeview services, you can check your Freeview coverage to find out what channels you will receive at your home address. It is advisable to check your television aerial to ensure that it is in good condition and that a coax cable is in fact connected to an aerial point in the room where the freeview box will be situated. The aerial lead will need to be plugged into the appropriate socket in the back of your Freeview television or recorder box. It’s likely that an existing aerial will work sufficiently if it is aligned correctly and hasn’t suffered weather damage. Your aerial should be pointing in the same direction as your neighbours or other aerials in the surrounding area.
Freeview provides you with over 70 TV channels, 15 HD channels, and more than 30 radio stations, all with no subscription or additional charges. This includes all the UK’s most popular television channels. If you have a Freeview HD TV or recorder you can also watch many HD channels, featuring all the most popular programmes. The number of channels you will receive at your property is dependant on the coverage at your address, you can go online and find a coverage checker to find out which channels are available at your home.
Most standard definition Freeview digital boxes or digital TV recorders will come with instructions however for help connecting or setting up the equipment please contact Freeview Installation and we will be more than happy to attend and set the service up for you. Once purchased, your box should come with a power lead, a remote control and batteries, a SCART lead (if your Freeview box doesn’t come with a SCART lead, they are available to be purchased from most electrical stores) although most boxes now use HDMI cables as they are all HD ready. Obviously you will also need an aerial lead and a working aerial.
